Sell Your Vintage Clothing
A Curated Buying Experience
At Pretty Vintage Boutique, we specialise in carefully curated vintage clothing from the 1940s to the 1970s.
We are not general buyers of old clothing. We select exceptional pieces that align with our aesthetic, quality standards and customer demand.
If you have something truly special, we would love to hear from you.
What We Curate
We are particularly interested in:
-
1940s vintage clothing
-
1950s vintage fashion
-
1960s dresses, tailoring and occasionwear
-
1970s statement pieces
-
Vintage shoes and accessories from these eras
We prioritise:
-
High-quality fabrics
-
Beautiful construction
-
Distinctive design
-
Original labels
-
Timeless silhouettes
Items should be in very good to excellent original condition. We understand that true vintage may show minor age-related wear and are happy to restore pieces where appropriate.
At present, we are not buying 1980s or 1990s stock, and we do not purchase real fur, astrakhan or reproduction/retro-inspired garments.
We purchase genuine vintage clothing, shoes and accessories only.
Ways to Work With Us
1. Trade In – Circular Luxury
Release exceptional vintage pieces from your wardrobe in exchange for up to 30% off a new purchase.
This option is ideal for one-off pieces or small, refined selections — including items purchased from us within the last 12 months.
Our trade-in model supports a circular fashion economy, extending the life of beautifully made garments and ensuring they continue to be worn and appreciated.
Email us with photographs and we will arrange a postage bag for suitable items.
2. Private Collection Purchases
If you have a carefully maintained personal collection or are managing a wardrobe or estate, we may purchase pieces outright.
We ask that you initially email:
-
Clear photographs (front, back and labels)
-
Era (if known)
-
Fabric
-
Size
-
Condition
All final valuations are confirmed once we have viewed the garments in person.
We understand that some collections come from a departed loved one. Please be assured that every piece is handled with respect and care. Where possible, we honour the story behind a collection and occasionally name curated edits after their original owner.
Wholesale pricing reflects restoration, preparation and resale value. The more exceptional and desirable the piece, the stronger the offer we are able to make.
3. Consignment – For High-Value Pieces
For rare or high-value individual items, consignment may be the most appropriate route.
We will:
-
Professionally photograph and style your item
-
Market it through our website and social channels
-
Sell on a 50/50 basis
The 50/50 split is calculated net of advertising, cleaning or restoration costs (approximately £5 per item for three months).
Items are listed for an initial 6-month period. If unsold after 12 months, you may collect them or choose to relist.
Payments are made monthly once the sale has completed and the 30-day returns window has expired.
A Note on Curation
We review every submission carefully. Due to the curated nature of our collection, we may not be able to accept all items.
If we feel a piece does not align with our current direction, this is simply a reflection of our edit - not the quality of your garment.
