A wonderfully long and characterful original Art Deco necklace, dating from approximately the 1920s to early 1930s.
Made from softly glowing apple-green glass beads, each elongated barrel-shaped bead has a beautiful cloudy, fibrous appearance reminiscent of satin glass or faux jade. The beads are individually joined with aged metal wire links, creating a fluid, wonderfully tactile necklace with all the movement and drama associated with flapper-era jewellery.
Its generous sautoir length allows it to be worn as one long strand or doubled for a layered look. The fresh green colouring is absolutely gorgeous and varies subtly from bead to bead, giving the necklace a wonderfully organic appearance.

Condition:
This necklace is in wearable antique condition with age-related wear; however, it is delicate. Several beads have fine surface marks, internal variations and small chips consistent with their considerable age.
At three beads have old breaks or fractures: one appears to have been neatly rejoined. The metal links have darkened with age and retain their original patina and are very fine wire to careful wearing is required
These imperfections are visible in the photographs and have been reflected in the price. Despite them, the necklace remains an exceptionally attractive and wearable survivor with enormous period character.
