1920s Czech Style Brass Grape Necklace – Art Deco Multicoloured Glass Cabochons, Filigree Statement Jewellery

An extraordinary antique necklace dating from approximately the 1920s to 1930s, featuring an elaborate grapevine design set with jewel-toned glass stones.
The ornate central section is formed from delicate brass filigree, decorated with wonderfully dimensional clusters of grapes. Rich blue glass cabochons sit alongside faceted stones in ruby red, emerald green, amber, sapphire blue and soft violet, creating a gloriously colourful piece of early costume jewellery.
Further grape clusters sweep upwards on either side before meeting a chain of small graduated brass beads. The necklace fastens with its original screw-barrel clasp.
Its intricate metalwork, coloured glass and romantic fruit motif strongly resemble Czech and Bohemian jewellery of the Art Deco period, although the necklace is unsigned and its maker cannot be confirmed.

Condition:
This necklace is in good wearable antique condition with age-related wear.
The brass has developed an attractive darkened patina, with some rubbing and surface marks throughout. The glass stones show minor wear but retain their rich colour and sparkle.
There is some distortion and evidence of an old repair or reattachment near the left-hand side of the central panel, including a small projecting piece of wire. The delicate filigree also shows minor bends and irregularities consistent with its age and construction. It remains connected and wearable but should be handled carefully.
