1950s Vintage Blue Marbled plastic Bead Necklace – Cornflower Blue Ombré Beads, Mid-Century Statement Jewellery

Description

A beautiful vintage bead necklace in the most wonderful spectrum of blue, graduating from pale powder and cornflower shades through to rich denim and cobalt.

Dating from approximately the 1950s to 1960s, the necklace is composed of generously sized polished round beads with swirling, cloud-like variations running through each one. Small clear faceted spacer beads add a subtle touch of sparkle without distracting from the glorious blue colour.

The beads appear to be vintage marbled or satin-effect glass, although they have not been professionally tested. Their varied colouring gives the necklace a particularly attractive ombré effect, making every bead slightly different.

Total necklace length: approximately 16 inches
Individual beads: approximately 10 mm diameter

Condition:

This necklace is in good wearable vintage condition with age-related signs of use.
The beads have occasional surface marks, tiny nibbles and minor roughness around some of the drilled openings. Variations, cloudy areas and darker markings appear to be part of the beads’ original decorative finish.

The metal fastening and end fittings show some wear and discolouration but remain functional. As with all vintage strung jewellery, the necklace should be handled and stored with care.
