Vintage 1940s Brown Cable Knit Wool Jumper – V Neck Chunky Country Sweater – Unisex Heritage Knit
Description
A beautifully made vintage cable knit jumper in a warm earthy brown/taupe shade, with a wonderfully traditional British countrywear feel.
The jumper has a deep V neckline edged in ribbed knitting and an elaborate central panel of vertical cable and twisted-knit motifs. The remainder of the jumper is worked in a wonderfully tactile textured stitch, giving the whole piece plenty of depth and character.
The construction and finish suggest a particularly well-made piece and it may well have been hand knitted. There are no visible maker, composition or care labels, so its exact origin cannot be confirmed.
A fantastic substantial vintage knit that would work equally well as traditional countrywear, layered over a shirt or worn oversized with denim and boots.
