A wonderful original late 1950s / early 1960s two-piece dress set by Mademoiselle, comprising a sleeveless sundress and matching navy cropped bolero.
The dress is made in a crisp white fabric printed with oversized irregular navy spots, finished throughout with bright red piping for a fabulous pop of colour.
The fitted sleeveless bodice has a softly scooped neckline and shaped seams, flowing into a full gathered skirt for a classic mid-century silhouette.
One of the most charming details is the large decorative hip pocket, edged in red and finished with a drawstring tie — a wonderfully playful piece of 1950s design.
The coordinating bolero is made in solid navy with short sleeves, red lining and reversible navy/red waist ties. It can be worn open, tied at the waist or removed completely to transform the dress into a summer sundress.
