Vintage 1950s Men's Red Button Braces – Woven Elastic Leather Traditional Trouser Suspenders
Description
A handsome pair of original mid-century men's trouser braces, dating approximately from the 1950s to 1960s.
Made from rich red woven elastic with a subtle repeating geometric motif, edged in black and finished with traditional leather fittings and woven button loops. The braces retain their original gilt/brass-tone metal adjusters.
Unlike modern clip-on braces, these are the traditional button-fastening style designed to attach to brace buttons inside the waistband of tailored trousers — making them particularly suitable for period tailoring, heritage menswear and vintage formalwear.
A lovely authentic accessory for wearing with 1940s/50s-style high-waisted trousers, tweeds or traditional tailoring, as well as an excellent period piece for costume and re-enactment.
