An exceptional pair of original British military khaki drill shorts, expertly tailored by the renowned military outfitters Gieves Ltd. Dating from the late 1930s to 1940s, these beautifully constructed shorts are a wonderful example of pre- and wartime British military tailoring.
Made from heavyweight khaki cotton drill, they feature a high-rise waist, deep forward pleats, a traditional button fly and distinctive twin buckle side adjusters, allowing the waist to be adjusted without the need for a belt. The interior retains the original Gieves Ltd woven label, together with handwritten ownership details, while the waistband is ink stamped "H. Carter Jonas", adding an intriguing layer of provenance.

Condition
Very good vintage condition for their age. There is light wear consistent with military use, including some fraying around internal buttonholes and loose threads to the inside waistband.
