A fabulous pair of original 1940s high-waisted ladies' shorts / culottes in a wonderful olive green linen.
These have an incredible period silhouette, sitting high on the natural waist before sweeping out into exceptionally full, wide legs. The generous cut gives them the appearance and movement of a divided skirt whilst retaining the practicality of shorts — a wonderful example of 1940s casual and leisurewear.
Beautifully constructed with a fitted waistband, shaped panel seams and a metal side zip fastening. The back features two large patch pockets, adding to their practical, utilitarian character.
The olive green linen has a lovely visible weave and natural texture, with enough weight to give the wide legs their fabulous shape.

Good vintage condition considering their age, with some signs of previous wear. There are several small marks/spots around the waistband together with some marking to the pocket area, all shown in the photographs. there is a purple mark on the back pocket
