Antique 1920s Dantree Green Velvet Cloche Hat Philadelphia New York Paris Art Deco

Description:
A striking original 1920s cloche hat by Dantree, with the worn interior maker’s stamp reading “Dantree – Philadelphia, New York, Paris.”

Made in deep forest-green velvet and ribbed grosgrain, the hat features an intricate panelled construction with angular Art Deco lines. Sweeping velvet sections meet in a dramatic folded and knotted arrangement across the crown, while the softly rolled velvet brim creates the close-fitting silhouette associated with the flapper era.

A rare surviving piece of American millinery with exceptional sculptural detailing. Contemporary newspaper references document Dantree hats during the early 1920s, supporting the period attribution.

Condition:
Good antique condition with expected age-related wear the silk lining is shattered and will need replacing but structurally the hat is still sound. Please study all photographs, as they form an important part of the description.
