An early black satin formal waist sash, likely dating from the early twentieth-century period.
Constructed from black cotton with a cotton backing and button fastening, this would originally have been worn beneath a formal evening tailcoat or dress coat as part of white tie attire. it has had a hook and eye added at a later date to 'extend it', but features it's original buttons
A wonderful surviving piece of antique menswear and increasingly difficult to source.
Perfect for collectors, costume departments or period re-enactment.
