Vintage 1930s 1940s Red Bead Flower Drop Earrings – Brass Petal Dangles – Lever Back Earrings
A wonderfully unusual pair of vintage drop earrings, believed to date from approximately the 1930s–1940s, featuring rich red beads suspended within beautifully formed antiqued brass-tone flower petals.
Each earring begins with a traditional lever-back fitting, beneath which three small faceted scarlet-red beads have been individually threaded onto hand-wrapped wire. These lead to the most distinctive feature of the earrings – a larger translucent red bead nestled inside a sculptural metal flower.
The flower settings are formed from elongated overlapping petals which curve naturally around the central bead, creating the appearance of a partially opened flower bud. A tiny metal bead beneath completes the design.
The combination of warm aged brass and jewel-like red gives these earrings a wonderfully romantic appearance, while the articulated construction allows the flowers to move gently when worn.
The wire-wrapped construction, lever-back fittings and aged metalwork all give these a distinctly earlier vintage character. There are no visible maker's marks, so an exact manufacturer cannot be attributed.

Condition
Good vintage condition with attractive age-related patination and darkening to the brass-tone metal. There is minor surface wear consistent with the age of the earrings.
The red beads remain bright and attractive and the flower settings retain their lovely sculptural form. The aged finish is very much part of their vintage character and has not been polished away.
Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
A particularly charming pair of early vintage earrings with an almost botanical Arts & Crafts feel – beautiful worn with 1930s or 1940s clothing but equally striking with contemporary dress.
