Vintage 1930s Art Deco Diamanté Dress Clip – Geometric Silver Tone Paste Statement Jewellery

A striking original Art Deco dress clip dating from the 1930s, with a wonderfully dramatic geometric design set with clear paste stones.
The clip has a strong triangular or stylised arrowhead silhouette, constructed from intersecting silver-toned bands filled with graduated round-cut paste stones. Openwork sections give the design depth, while rows of baguette-cut stones descend towards the pointed base. Two larger round stones project from either side, creating a particularly architectural and unmistakably Art Deco profile.
The reverse retains its original hinged, pointed dress-clip fitting. This type of jewellery became highly fashionable during the 1920s and 1930s and was designed to fasten directly onto the neckline, shoulder, lapel, hat, belt or evening bag. Unlike an ordinary brooch, the toothed metal fitting grips the fabric without using a conventional pin.

Condition
Good vintage condition with visible age-related wear.
The silver-toned metal has areas of tarnishing, surface wear and discolouration. Several of the clear paste stones have mellowed or darkened with age, and there is some accumulated wear around the settings. A small amount of green oxidation is visible near the lower baguette stones.
The stones visible in the photographs appear to be present, although please inspect carefully before listing. The hinged clip fitting is intact; please confirm that it opens and closes securely.
These signs of age have been left untouched and are shown clearly in the photographs.
