Vintage 1950s Navy Ivory Full Slip Colour Block Lace Lingerie Nightdress
Description
A fabulous vintage full-length slip dating approximately to the 1950s/early 1960s, with an unusually striking navy blue and ivory colour-block design.
The upper section features an ivory floral lace bust with a V-shaped neckline, sitting above a broad ivory midriff panel. The transition into the deep navy skirt has a wonderful sculpted zig-zag shape, giving the slip a distinctly glamorous mid-century silhouette.
The long navy skirt falls simply from the waist and is finished with a generous band of matching navy floral lace at the hem. Fine adjustable shoulder straps complete the design.
The combination of navy and ivory makes this considerably more unusual than the traditional pale slips of the period — it has enough visual impact to be worn as a dress in its own right rather than simply as lingerie.
