Description
A superb original 1950s Pendleton wool coat, made in the USA from pure virgin wool in a wonderfully rich brown, cream and black plaid.

This is a beautiful example of Pendleton's classic mid-century outerwear, with the quality of the wool and tailoring immediately apparent. The coat has a relaxed straight silhouette, wide notched collar, four-button front and generous patch pockets.

The warm earthy plaid is particularly lovely, combining shades of caramel, tobacco brown, cream and black in a wonderfully wearable check.

Fully lined and retaining its original Pendleton labels, including the distinctive “Warranted To Be A Pendleton” branding, this is both a very wearable piece of vintage outerwear and a lovely find for a Pendleton collector.

A genuine piece of American heritage clothing that has survived for around 70 years in remarkably good condition.

Condition
Excellent vintage condition.
The coat presents beautifully with no significant stains, holes or noticeable flaws noted.
The original Pendleton labels remain intact, the buttons are secure and the lining is in excellent condition.
Considering its age, this is a particularly well-preserved example. Please review all photographs carefully as these form part of the description.

Styling Suggestion
This is fantastic with denim, a cream roll-neck and loafers or boots — very easy heritage autumn styling without looking remotely costume-y.
It would also work beautifully over a midi skirt or tailored trousers. The brown plaid is one of those classic patterns that just gets better as everything else in fashion moves around it.
