Vintage 1960s 70s West German Men's Braces – Grey Woven Gold Tone Clip Suspenders
Description
A superb pair of vintage men's clip-on braces, dating approximately from the 1960s–1970s and featuring original fittings stamped WEST GERMANY.
Made from textured charcoal grey/black elasticated webbing woven with a fine white dotted pattern, the braces are finished with contrasting gold-tone metal fittings and a translucent rear adjuster.
The four individual trouser clips have white gripping inserts and provide a secure fastening directly to the waistband, while the adjustable straps allow the fit to be altered as required.
The West Germany marked hardware provides a lovely piece of period provenance and dates the fittings to the era between 1949 and German reunification in 1990. The overall construction and styling suggest these are most likely from the 1960s or 1970s.
An excellent original vintage menswear accessory, particularly good paired with tailored trousers, tweed, formalwear or heritage clothing.
