Vintage 1960s West Germany Amber Glass & Aurora Borealis Bead Clip-On Earrings – Dangle Cluster Earrings
A beautiful and highly wearable pair of vintage West German clip-on earrings, dating to approximately the late 1950s–1960s.
These fabulous earrings feature clusters of faceted glass beads in warm amber, champagne and smoky tones, several finished with an iridescent aurora borealis coating which flashes pink, blue, gold and violet as the light catches the facets.
At the centre of each cluster sits a larger rich amber-coloured faceted bead, surrounded by smaller graduating beads to create a wonderfully dimensional floral or berry-like arrangement.
Suspended beneath each earring is a larger rounded amber glass bead with a beautiful internal textured or foil-like effect, creating wonderful depth and glow.
The earrings are fitted with traditional hinged clip-on backs and are clearly stamped WEST GERMANY to the fastening.
West German costume jewellery from the post-war period is particularly loved for its imaginative use of glass, richly coloured beads and high-quality components. These earrings are a lovely surviving example, combining the warm jewel tones and sparkling AB finishes so characteristic of mid-century jewellery.

Condition
Good vintage condition with age-related wear to the metal backs, including tarnishing, patination and some verdigris visible around the fittings, as shown clearly in the photographs. The beads remain wonderfully bright and attractive with their faceted and iridescent finishes displaying beautifully.
The clips appear complete. As with all vintage clip-on earrings, the fittings should be handled with appropriate care.
