DESCRIPTION
A wonderfully unusual vintage Art Deco necklace featuring geometric green plaques, graduated round beads and a delicate aged brass-tone chain.
The necklace combines two elongated marquise-shaped plaques with a striking triangular centrepiece. Two asymmetrical chain drops hang from the triangle, each decorated with graduated green beads to create a beautifully fluid, architectural design.
The contrasting shapes, long silhouette and rich jade-green colouring are wonderfully characteristic of Art Deco jewellery. The green components are believed to be an early plastic, possibly galalith or celluloid, although they have not been formally tested and are therefore not described as Bakelite.
Believed to date from approximately the 1920s–1930s, this is a distinctive piece of flapper-era costume jewellery with a strong geometric appearance.

CONDITION
Good antique condition overall.
There is age-related tarnishing, darkening and patina to the fine metal chain and connecting rings. The green plaques and beads display some light surface marks, small dark specks and slight variations in colour consistent with their age.
The fine chain can naturally twist and may need gently arranging before wear. No obvious major chips are visible in the photographs.
