Vintage Hand Embroidered Cottage Brooch, Oval Textile Landscape Picture Pin, 1940s 1950s Needlework Jewellery
A charming vintage picture brooch containing a beautifully worked miniature country landscape.
The hand-embroidered scene depicts a thatched cottage surrounded by rolling green fields, trees and a winding path or stream. Different colours, stitch lengths and directions have been used to create texture and depth, particularly across the surrounding countryside.
The embroidery is mounted beneath a clear protective cover and held within a simple silver-tone oval frame. This style of sentimental textile jewellery was popular during the mid-20th century, and I believe this example most likely dates from the 1940s or 1950s.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with age-related discolouration and foxing to the textile background. The clear protective cover has surface cracked, scratches, scuffs and some clouding, while the silver-tone frame displays rubbing and small marks.
