An exceptional original Lavender Ltd. presentation box complete with its original tissue paper and original postal label dated 15th September 1954.
The original label identifies the sender as Lavender Ltd., Court Dressmakers and Milliners, of 191 & 192 Sloane Street, London SW1, with the parcel addressed to Mrs Glazebrook, Carnatic Road, Mossley Hill, Liverpool. The surviving postal label transforms this from simple packaging into a fascinating piece of British fashion and retail history.
Lavender Ltd. were renowned London court dressmakers and milliners, producing elegant garments and hats for society occasions and formal court presentation during the mid-twentieth century. Original packaging from specialist couture houses rarely survives, making this a wonderful collector's item.
The box still retains its original white tissue paper and string, preserving much of its original presentation. An ideal display piece for collectors of fashion history, vintage retail ephemera, couture memorabilia or shop display.

Good vintage condition for its age.
The box displays expected signs of age including foxing, marks, creasing, edge wear and areas of paper loss, particularly around the corners and side flaps. The original postal label has age-related staining but remains firmly attached and legible, while the original tissue paper is also present with age-related creasing.
